The St. George Downtown Area is home to some of the Town's most valuable Historic Building Structures. The architecture can be over 100 years old, and the buildings are very close together.
When a fire strikes, this makes for a veritable "tinder-box". The quick reaction, courageousness, and hard work on the part of the St. George SC Fire and Rescue Department has literally "saved the day" on multiple occasions. They are much appreciated!
